It has come and gone!

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

Hey Everyone!

Well that’s it! The fight has come and gone. Matty and No Name fought, and No Name got disqualified for picking Matty up and throwing him on the ground, then No Name took a swing at the reff. So I ended up fighting Mr. Matty Staudt. I know you’re ALL shocked… but I won! It was SUCH a good time! After I punched Matty in the face, I had to hold back from helping him up and giving him a big hug, but we’re all good. The show is still a family and EVIL 105′S SPOOKFEST was AWESOME!

To continue my update, I weighed myself yesterday… 137lbs. I started this at 155- 157lbs depending on the day. So all in all, in ONE MONTH at UFC gym, I lost 19lbs!

Marc, Rob, and Tanya have truely changed my life. I can’t believe that these 3 people had the ability to motivate me, push me, support me, and change me all in a little less than a month. UFC Gym is now my Gym. I have never had the feeling that a group of people cared so much about me and helping me change myself for the better. I LOVE the UFC Gym and everyone who works there. Other gyms give you sick sigma fitness… it reduces people…. Not UFC gym.

The cool thing about the UFC gym, is that I am burning massive amounts of calories in one single workout. At the same time, I am being trained to work with every muscle (even ones I didn’t know existed) and am learning how to protect myself. That is something that I can use on a daily basis when out in the real world.  Another thing I am noticing about myself, is my discipline level is much stronger than before. The UFC gym has trained me mentally with their mixed martial art training.

This place kicks ass, and I know that I have said it A MILLION times - check out their website BY CLICKING HERE

SPOOKFEST INFO

Ohhhh Ouch.

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Wow it has been a little bit of time. Yalls need an update.

I have been hitting the gym 5 days a week! It is a lot of fun but a lot of hard work. My knuckles are almost healed!! I’ll just cut straight to it, I’m in pain.

My ass hurts

My legs hurt

My arms hurt

My stomach hurts

My shoulders hurt

EVERYTHING IS SORE.

That is good though, that means I didn’t cheat on my workouts. On Sunday morning I met with Tanya to do some TRX (The workout developed by the Navy Seals) and she made my ass burrrrrn. Oh my god I was dying. They are 2 straps with handles…. yet the littlest movements and muscle manipulations can KILL. We did a fast paced cardio workout. Then today I went in and worked with BOTH Marc and Rob. Marc first. Bad idea. He pushed me to my limit within the first 5 minutes of workout. Turns out, at the end of all of this, I had only worked out for 28 minutes and 17 seconds…. yet I was laying on the ground trying to talk myself out of dying. Then Rob came in. Bless his heart, I was being SUCH a baby. We did some tire flips, some ladder work, pushups, weight ball, all sorts of stuff… then came the hammy cramp. My hamstrings were so tight and painful that…. agh I can’t believe I’m admitting this… but… uhh…. I … uhhh…. cried a little. Ok F it, my eyes were like freaking waterfalls. So Rob, again bless his heart, took me in back and stretched me out so I could walk without looking like I was duct taped to a metal pole.

I am LOVING every second of the UFC gym experience. I have been drinking my shake everyday and working out a lot. Rob, Marc, and Tanya are doing an AWESOME job of getting me in shape, and even in my weakest moments, they never give up on me. Everyone else who works at the gym rules too. Even when I’m hurting, I’m laughing at someone who is acting silly.

That place rules… now excuse me, it’s hot tub time!

Ohh Monday…

Good Morning everyone! Lets Chat!

So on Friday, I went out to the UFC Enrollment Center (Where I am working out  until their gym is finished) and got my ass KICKED by Rob. I think that Friday was the most pain I had endured in quite some time. Plus I’m still sick, so that didn’t help my cause. Oh thats right, there is a video of the embarassment… and here it is….

So Saturday morning I went out to meet Marc at 9:00 AM for a little early morning training. We focused mostly on my legs, since my knuckles are still pretty gross looking. After I worked out with Marc, I jetted back to CV to get ready for FLEET WEEK!! I went to a party on top of the Pier 39 parking structure with Matty and TOTALLY blew my diet. There was so much good food and drinks… HOW COULD I SAY NO?! That’s right, I couldn’t. So I ate all sorts of stuff!!! It was delish! Matty and I bonded but I paid for it the next day.

Sunday morning, I went out and did TRX training with Tanya. It looked simple, and it is, but it works you in ways you didn’t even know about. It was the craziest workout I have ever done, and it required some hardcore consentration. Check it out:

I trained yesterday with Marc. When I got there, we did the battle ropes. They looked REALLY cool, but they didn’t feel really cool. It was so much harder than it looked. Just so you get an idea - Here is a video of some guy doing it:

.... I mean obviously I wasn't doing it JUST like that, but you get the point. We did that for a little while and then we started to box. I learned a couple of new moves, and actually started to fight a bit. Although I am hurting today, it was a fun workout! Marc always kicks my ass.

UFC Gym hooked me up with all my gear yesterday! It was so awesome, and I instantly felt cool when I put the outfit on. :0) I will take a picture of it all and post it soon.

Here's my knuckles from after my workout. Gross huh?

Hey everyone!

Well I had my third training session yesterday and lets just say… I am having trouble touching my toes and lifting my arms. It was harsh. Plus AS I TYPE I am in the process of typing over a clorox bleach pad so that I don’t touch the studio key board because I am pretty sick. Gross huh??

So basically I walked in yesterday and let everyone know that I was fighting something off and that I didn’t know what it was so I needed to get their imput on what to do. So Marc…my MMA coach… feels my lymph nodes, goes “yep, swollen” then tells me to grab my water. I did a double workout! It was complete hell and I basically wanted to cry through the whole thing!!

First Rob kicked my ass, then Marc kicked my ass…It was a good ass kicking. All hot and sweaty and gross. :0) The best kind!!

So far, I have lost 9 lbs and I am feeling much stronger! Watch out No Name… (or Matty… ha! :0) )

Good Morning Everybody!

First and foremost: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TANYA! :0)

Ok - So yesterday was day number 2! I got there at 3:40PM and started stretching… which was painful due to my soreness level. At about 4:00, Rob got there. His training focused primarily on muscle manipulation. He started me off with 5 “quick minutes” (Which seemed like forever) on the Olyptical. After that we sat down at the rope climbing machine (where you sit down and pull on a rotating rope), did some pushups, did some crunches, squats, and a bunch of other things. You’d have to see them because I sure as hell can’t verbally describe what I was doing. He was really helpful and talked me through everything. It was during that workout that the “I’m a fat ass” reality sank in. I need a LOT of work.

After my workout with Rob, Marc got there and we started. I put on the gloves and went to town. I started with punches (jab, cross, uppercut, hook) then we did some kicks on the bag. I walked away from the workout BRIGHT red and panting…..

It was one of those workouts you walk away pumped up from. Yes my body ached, I was all gross and sweaty, BUT I wanted to go running! I really enjoy it there. Plus, I stretched as soon as I got home, stretched IN the hottub, and stretched this morning and I’m actually feeling pretty good!

HERE’S THE VIDEO! Keep in mind… it’s my second day. It will only get better!

I’m on my way… No Name (or Matty) had better watch himself.

Ohhh Boy.

Hey All -

Well just as I suspected… I got my ass kicked. Here’s the sad part… Marc wasn’t even pushing me that hard… I’m just THAT out of shape. We did some fighting today, went over a lot of nutrition plans, and did some physical tests. It was a more informational day, lots of talking and figuring out what I am capable of… you know… so they can turn me into a self defense machine!

I met my other trainer today, his name is Rob. He seems really cool but reminded me that he is there to kick my ass. So far everyone there is really nice. I worked with Marc today. He’s very cool. He is the “dad” of the building. I saw Tanya for only a little while, but she is awesome. Its like 24/7 with her. I know that if I have any questions or concerns I can shoot her a text and she’ll help me out. The whole crew there pretty much works that way, it’s really amazing.

I really enjoy it there. It is a family environment which makes it much more comfortable to work out. They are kicking ass working with my schedule too! I have the worst schedule on the planet to work with and they pulled a full blown schedule that works for me together in 10 minutes! Overall the UFC Gym RULES and so does everyone who works there!

My diet has been very strict. I am eating brown rice, egg whites, tuna, chicken, some fruit and veggies, and uhh that is pretty much it. Exciting huh? Well this is what happens when you work in radio, sit on your ass and talk, while people bring you food, you get out of shape before you can down that delicious donut. :0)

I am interested and excited to see where this whole experience will take me. So far, so good!

P.S. :  I gotta holler at my girl Jules!
